SUNDAYS #2 vs. LUNCH LADIES:

(vol. 42S, no. 1; newsletter by r.n.)
editor's note: Although some of want to forget this night, the Cap'n bangs out a text about Sunday's affair in a timely manner.
The Lunch Ladies hand out some bad meals and while the Pirates puke up the puck the Ladies score an 8-3 victory. Playing with heavy hearts from the season-ending injuries of goal scorer extroadinaire, Jay Serkin, and defensive stalwart, Darren Gugglielmelli, the Pirates battled through the stifling heat and repetitive rushes of the Lunch Ladies.

The game was more even then the score depicts. The pirates actually battled back from a 4-1 halftime deficit to as close as 4-3 after an inspiring goal by Charlie Milo. The rally ran out of gas when Pirates at each end of the rink misfired. The miscues came in the form of a number of bad goals due to every known mistake known to hockey and cost the Pirates any chance of tying up the match.

The bright spots for the night were the solid play of new sub Joe, Charlie's goal and the return of long-time Pirate Ed Southworth (a.k.a. Scooby). Here's hoping it is a a little cooler at the rink tonight

THE

SKULLS

1) CHARLIE MILO
For a nice topshelf tally with a World Cup-style celebration!

2) JOE NIGRO
For two assists in his first night as a Pirate — a patient pass to Tim for a 1-1- tying goal, and the second, an end-to-end rush that Rud tapped in the rebound from.

INJURY REPORT
Jason Serkin made a “trial” return to the rink on Wednesday (with his other team) after suffering what was thought to be a season-ending injury. In his own words: “It was like playing with one hand since I can't really hold the stick with my cast hand. I have no power and it was awkward. I was pretty sore after as well. Maybe in a few weeks but I'll probably have to wait until the cast is off.”
