SUNDAYS #9 vs. BULLDOGS:

(vol. 39S, no. 9; newsletter by h.s.)
This was our third and (fortunately) last outing vs. the Bulldogs this season. Each of our games was getting progressively worse, so thankfully this was just a scrimmage while we both awaited the winners of our respective Semifinals games to see who we'd be playing for our Division Titles.

Although we got beaten this game, I think we may have lulled the Bulldogs into a false sense of security, one that Team Bobby Currao (BC) took advantage of the following week when they upset the Bulldogs in the Finals. (Sunday Pirates: Don't forget to redeem your “We Lulled the Bulldogs into a False Sense of Security Discount for Team BC” on all equipment in Bobby's store.)

Meanwhile in the Silver Semifinals another upset was brewing, as the Jags beat the No.2 Cannibals for a coveted spot in the Title match against us. For us this last “warm-up”
vs. Bulldogs before the big game proved invaluable, as I believe we were sick and tired of being beaten ... but to get the full story, you'll need to read Russ' recounting of the Championship game and the “Drive for 25.”

You've probably heard that many hockey players like golf. Unfortunately for the above-pictured deer, many hunters who play hockey like to hunt on golf courses too. This Bambi was found on the 7th hole at Howell Golf Course (“Just off the green,” according to Kevin). So I guess you could say that Kevin got a hole-in-one.
