SUNDAYS #8 vs. PIPE-DOWN DRAGONS:

(vol. 33S, no. 8; newsletter by r.n.)
From the BlackBerry™ of Captain Russ ...
The Pirates returned from a short holiday hiatus with a feisty match with the pipe guys ... Highlights of the hard fought 6 to 3 victory were an end to end rush by the freight train, a goal by Charlie that followed each of the 5 guys on the rink having a touch and Harris fighting.

In roughly 12 years of Pirate hockey I have never seen 88 fight. I think it all started when he broke his favorite stick ... perhaps we can get him to admit how that happened but I suspect that it was the result of clearing the crease while killing a powerplay. I had been beaten and made sure the player did not get a shot off a minute or so prior to the melee. Harris' hand was being pinned down by the stick of an opponent and he exploded once he got free. The guys came to his rescue but 88 took a cut to the forehead.

The Pirates really locked it down after the scuffle and 88 was very focused. I plan to whack him in the head often going forward. Fun game.

O.J. HAS NOTHING ON THE PIRATES ...
The bloody glove of Harris after “the scuffle.” Special thanks to all the guys who crosschecked the opposition during the disagreement and kudos to Gucci for having a Band-Aid — albeit a camouflage one — in his hockey bag.

WON 6-3
