SUNDAYS #9 vs. CHIEFS:

(vol. 31S, no. 9; newsletter by h.s.)
Writing this newsletter more than two weeks after the game allows me the benefit of some historical perspective.

For instance, I can reflect back that during our Playoff run for the Fall season the Pirates spotted their adversaries three-goal leads in the Semis and Finals ... Or I can talk about how we went into this Semifinals match-up as the favored team and struggled 4-1 at the break .. Or I could mention how Wildman was called upon to play defense and provided some great blueline hustle — and our first goal of the night ... Or how Captain Russ and Brooks led the Pirates' charge with a pair of goals each in the final period ... Or how the game turned physical as both clubs accumulated a total of 16:00 minutes of penalties.

Sure, there were a lot of memorable moments in our comeback win, but the fact that we all know the turnout of the following game will make this newsletter about as commercially successful as the new Britney Spears CD that Mike lent me.
