WEDNESDAYS #5 vs. RAVE CONSTRUCTION:

(vol. 13W, no. 5; newsletter by b.n.)
Mombawomba it's a conda
If there is a juppa
I can stand to wait

Four to thirty
Kind of dirty
Who's that at the gate?

“Oh?” you say
Or did you ask
Who won the game?

Pirates did
Rave did not

(Editor's note: Although I try to give “creative freedom” to the authors of the newsletters, I feel compelled to “flesh out” this particular effort this past Wednesday. This is not meant to supplant the above essay, but rather to serve as an addendum: The Pirates jumped out to a quick lead as Chris put away a rebound from #67 just :14 seconds into the 1st period. Mike “The Cigar” Farrell would add a shorthanded goal later in the period to give the Pirates a 2-0 lead that they would take into the break. Rave struck back in the 2nd when they put a loose back into our net after running our favorite goalie. They scored twice more in the 2nd to takeover the lead 3-2. Russ tied things up (assist to Chris) in the 3rd, however, and then Scooby did a move that would make Bobby Orr proud to give the Pirates back the lead at 4-3. Russ added our third unanswered goal later and put the game out of reach, thus crowning a great collective comeback effort.)
